Volunteers required to work alongside the organisations reception and admin department taking calls and responding to emails requesting general information and helping to support people with lived experience of disability and long term conditions, and their families.

Volunteers will have access to information about what is available throughout the county, and services that can help them. If the person calling could one of our own services, the Volunteer will  make sure that they are put through to the correct department/advisor or signposted to other organisations better suited to support them.

Part of the role will be to keep records of enquiries to help assist the organisation to gauge where there may be gaps in support for disabled people, and to help keep up to date information for signposting.

Volunteers will not be expected to offer advice of any sort. If advice is needed the volunteer will signpost to the appropriate department or organisation.

Ideally volunteers interested in this role will have a good telephone manner and strong communication skills, be I.T. literate, able to keep up to date records, have good time management and the ability to empathise.

Volunteers are required to cover Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10am – 1pm, so we will be recruiting several volunteers for this role.

Volunteers can expect a full induction and role specific training, with ongoing support.
