We’ve created this icon as an alternative and more inclusive version of the traditional ‘person in a wheelchair’ icon which is widely used but not representative of most disabled people /people’s experience of living with a disability or long-term health condition.
It’s one icon, not designed to be split up and each individual impairment is shown by shading the applicable areas (left to right):
- Hearing loss / d/Deaf
- Visual impairment / blind
- Physical impairment
- Learning / cognitive impairment
- Mental health issue
- Invisible / hidden impairment
Please feel free to download and use the logo on your own materials. If you’re able to link it to this webpage please do, so people can download and us it themselves.
There are two versions, one for print and one for digital use. We want to raise awareness of the breadth of impairments, so we ask that you use the icon as it is and don’t change the colour or crop it in any way.
