Meet our speakers
Lynne Turnbull, Chief Executive Officer
Lynne lives in Cheshire and has been Chief Executive of Disability Positive since 2009. She has lived experience of disability and identifies as a disabled person. Lynne is a passionate advocate for the social model of disability and works to remove societal barriers by ensuring disabled people have services, opportunities and a strong voice.
Lynne works closely with other Disabled People’s Organisations, to influence policy, practice and system change at a local, regional and national level.
She is deeply committed to coproduction and believes meaningful change happens when people with lived experience are at the heart of decision making and service design.
Alongside her role at Disability Positive, Lynne holds a number of board and panel positions, across safeguarding, disabled people’s forums and social care including Cheshire and Warrington Disabled People’s Panel (Chair), Disabled People’s Organisation Forum England and Social Care Sub-Group, The Disability Poverty Campaign Group and Our Voices DPO Group. She is also a Non-Executive Director of North West Care Cooperative.
