Unpaid Carers Offered Covid 19 Vaccine

Unpaid Carers Offered Covid 19 Vaccine

Did you know that if you are an unpaid carer you can get a Covid 19 vaccine?

The NHS is now offering the Covid 19 vaccine to people in priority group 6, which includes adult carers.

This means people who receive carer’s allowance, or people who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person whose welfare may be at risk if the carer falls ill.

If your GP knows you are a carer you don’t need to do anything and will get an invite for a vaccine. If they don’t know you’re a carer you can contact your GP on their website to let them know.

You can see the government guidance on priority groups below. Unpaid carers are in group 6 under footnote 1.
