Statutory Advocacy Engagement

Statutory Advocacy Engagement

Advocacy is where you get support to help you to speak up for yourself and get your voice heard.  Advocates can also help you to find information and understand your rights.

Cheshire West and Chester Council and Cheshire East Council, who pay for this service, would like to hear your views about Statutory Advocacy.  This is to help them shape the new advocacy service which will be in place from 1st September 2022.  It is called statutory because this support must be offered locally.
In Cheshire, statutory advocacy is provided by Age UK Cheshire and Disability Positive

There are a few ways to them what you think if you are a resident:

You can also email them your views commissioning@cheshireeast.gov.uk or write to them:
Commissioning,
Westfields,
c/o Municipal Buildings,
Earle Street,
Crewe,
CW1 8NJ.

You can also come and talk to them at an engagement session either face to face session on 2nd November 2021 at Northgate Locks, Chester or online sessions will be held on 4 November 2021.
If you would like to attend any of these sessions, please email them at commissioining@cheshireeast.gov.uk to book a place and for more information.

If you are a professional, they would still like to hear your views:
Professional advocacy survey (external link) Or attend an online session on 4th November 2021, please email us at commissioining@cheshireeast.gov.uk to book a place.

Please submit your response by Friday 26 November 2021
