We provide services, opportunities and a voice to people living with disability and long-term health conditions, and their families
We can offer advice, help with practical tasks and advocate for people in lots of situations. We listen and share people’s experiences to influence positive change in government policy. We know it matters, because we live with disability and long-term health conditions too.

Our Services
If you or someone you care for has health and care needs, we have a range of support and advice we can
offer.
"I only use the community connections and buzz group service but both are brilliant, such nice people who care for children and always take time to speak with us" [Community Engagement August 2022]
"Everyone was nice and friendly and eager to move things forward". [Befriending August 2022]
"They are never late into our banks". [Supported Banking Service April 2022]
"I received information relating to the account, which prompted me to call with a query. The person that spoke to me and explained everything, put me at ease with the situation. When the call ended, I felt confident that everything had been dealt with. Thank you for your valued help and support". [Payroll November 2022]
"It's a life line for our child he wouldn't be able to do what he gets to do without the service, and for parents it provides a welcome respite". [Community Connections July 2022]
"I would only recommend the best to others and you are the very best" [ACSS November 2022]
“The Training Manager organised the training that I wanted, checked it was agreed by management, really promptly and I really enjoyed it”
"Good explanation of the changes with the buzz group, told me how to register my daughter and then sent me all the info again in an email so I didn’t forget, really helpful and polite and understood the issues for parents of disabled children.”
“The advocacy service is simply exemplary, the individuals needing this service are very well supported, and reassured simply by the advocates presence. They offer a consistent reliable service, attending CPA meetings, Tribunals and ward rounds and championing individual care packages. I have very many examples where our patients felt quite confident in their advocacy support.”
"The creative breaks scheme has given my two boys and myself a wealth of special memories. We have been able to watch our boys grow and have freedom that otherwise would not be available to us. Though X has now outgrown the service X still benefits. We will be sad to say goodbye when X turns 19 next year."
"Funding enables my son to engage in something so appropriate for him that boosts his self esteem. Without the funding we could not do this" (Community Engagement)
"You provide a good and reliable payroll service and, given the circumstances you've had to deal with over the past two years, have done extremely well to keep things going, thank you!"
"Brilliant service once again from an organisation that understands needs of employers of PAs"
"I have had nothing but positive experiences with Disability Positive they've been helpful all along and I have finally got a personal assistant which I've struggled with issues surrounding for quite some time so I thank them for this!"
"We had been looking to get counselling for our son for a while and had trouble finding the right person, but with help from Disability Positive we found the perfect counsellor for him".
"This service (Community Engagement) helps disadvantaged disabled people access activities and short breaks that they may not otherwise be able to access/afford, allowing them to live a better quality of life resulting in better mental health and wellbeing. Also gaining confidence and social skills".
"ACSS has again been brilliant in supporting us with a request for some additional funding as part of the NHS CHC personal budget plan. She understood our needs and we felt that she goes the extra mile in achieving the objectives agreed. Overall very happy indeed!"
“I found out about this service from my Mum, my advocate was really helpful one of the good things was she was able to respect my confidentiality, this helped me have private conversations when I did not want to talk to my Mum. She was a good listener and understood what I wanted to happen.”
"Thanks for all the work over the last few years in helping to keep my grandma in her own home where she wanted to be"
